Domestic VIOLENCE Shelter
The Shelter location is undisclosed to provide greater security for its residents. It has a comprehensive security system and measures to provide a safe refuge for women and their children fleeing domestic violence.
The Shelter setting promotes healing and change. Trained staff are on-site 24 hours daily to provide direction, support, and resources for each family member's needs.
The Shelter provides a warm home-style living setting. Bedrooms are assigned and include all bedding and pillows. Guests share a living, full kitchen, bathroom spaces, and laundry. The Shelter provides plenty of room for children to play and family space.
Food, clothing, and toys will be made immediately available for those fleeing.

Over the past two decades, our Domestic Violence Shelter has been a beacon of hope for those
experiencing violence in their homes in Muscatine County. Thanks to the generous support of
organizations like yours, we have been able to serve our community and remain one of the few domestic
violence shelters in Iowa.
Regrettably, due to the challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic, our annual New Beginnings Gala
was put on hold for three years (2020-2022). While we were able to return in 2023, this hiatus has
resulted in a budgetary deficit that directly impacts the crucial programs we provide to survivors. We are
reaching out to valued partners like you to help us remedy this deficit and ensure the continued success of
our programs for years to come.
In 2024, our fundraising goal for the New Beginnings Gala is set at over $200,000. This funding is
essential to keeping the doors of our Domestic Violence Shelter open for future survivors, providing a
safe haven and support when they need it the most.
We believe that with your support, we can make this gala a resounding success. By becoming an official
